The Abbeystowe team are proud to announce that we are hosting History Alive at Abbeystowe this September 7 – 8th in partnership with Queensland Living History Federation.

Making it’s comeback since 2019, QLHF have called on the support of Abbeystowe to bring this event back to life, showcasing MORE of history from Ancient Rome to WWII, featuring reenactment groups from across Queensland.

Throughout the weekend indulge in the thrills of jousting, be captivated by displays of combat throughout history, engage in archery, and get up close to ancient machines. You’ll also have the opportunity to participate in workshops and be amazed by the skills and craftsmanship by the demonstrations and presentations. Be sure not to overlook the spectacle of the dramatic main arena performances. If that is not enough for you, the weekend will also feature talented musicians and street performers.

Take a step back in time as you navigate the bustling Abbeystowe marketplace, filled with the sights, smells, and sounds of a bygone era. This is just a glimpse of the rich experience waiting for you. And let’s not forget the diverse culinary offerings spanning various cultures and traditions from all of history – come prepared to feast!

Don’t miss out on securing your tickets for the Moreton Bay Joust Spectacular, as they will sell out quickly and are a regular highlight for good reasons.

Watch out for the email and social media alerts on Wednesday with the link to purchase tickets!

Presented by the Abbey Museum and Queensland Living History Federation.
