How We Got Started
Established in 1989, the Abbey Medieval Festival was founded to support the Abbey Museum as it’s primary fundraising efforts to support the future of the Abbey Museum. It continues to be a contributing fundraiser towards the Museum’s operational costs and supports the maintenance and care of its remarkable collection of fine arts and antiquities. It also fulfils the Museum’s mission to provide quality educational and public programs.
Our Founders
Lord Michael and Lady Edith of Abbeystowe together created the Abbey Medieval Festival and continue to represent the Festival each year as the Knight Grand Commanders of Abbeystowe.
